Inferno Clear to Smoked Photochromic Lenses

The glasses feature non-polarized Inferno Clear to Smoked photochromic lenses that automatically adjust their tint according to the intensity of ultraviolet (UV) radiation.

Indoors or in low-light conditions, the lenses remain clear to provide maximum visibility. When exposed to direct UV sunlight, they gradually darken, reducing eye strain and enhancing overall visual comfort.

The lenses offer a 15–81% Visible Light Transmission (VLT) range, making them ideal for transitioning between indoor and outdoor environments, operating in foggy conditions, and working in constantly changing lighting conditions.

The tint transition occurs in approximately 60 seconds. The level of darkening also depends on the ambient temperature—at lower temperatures, the lenses may become darker.

Important: direct UV exposure is required to activate the photochromic technology. The lenses may not darken behind automotive windshields with UV filters or beneath protective visors that block ultraviolet radiation.

Military-Grade Ballistic Protection

The lenses and frame comply with the requirements of the ANSI/ISEA Z87.1-2015 standard, which includes testing for resistance to high-velocity impacts, mechanical stress, airborne particles, dust, and liquid splashes.

During testing, the construction withstands the impact of a steel ball approximately 6.35 mm in diameter traveling at approximately 46 m/s without cracking, shattering, or allowing the lens to dislodge from the frame.

The ballistic lenses also comply with MIL-PRF-32432A, Section 4.8.4, which evaluates protection against high-velocity fragments. They are designed to withstand two impacts from a .15 caliber test projectile traveling at approximately 213–221 m/s without failure or lens displacement.

This level of protection allows the Gatorz Marauder to be confidently used in environments where protection from fragments, debris, and mechanical hazards is essential.

Protection Against Fogging, Water, and Contaminants

The lenses feature a specialized Anti-Fog coating that helps minimize condensation during physical activity, rapid temperature changes, or when the glasses are worn together with protective equipment.

A hydrophobic and oleophobic coating repels water, oils, and other contaminants, making the lenses easier to clean while helping maintain a clear field of view for longer.

UV 400 protection completely blocks harmful ultraviolet radiation, helping reduce eye fatigue and providing greater comfort during prolonged outdoor use.
