It can withstand immense loads and allows fellow soldiers to quickly and safely pull a fighter away from the line of fire in the event of an injury.

Before washing, be sure to remove all ballistic inserts and plates. Since the outer carrier is made of heavy-duty Cordura 1000D, it can be washed by hand or in an automatic washing machine; high-pressure cleaning (Karcher) is also permitted for heavy soiling.

Typically, Class 6 protection (the maximum) is provided specifically by the primary ceramic plates, which protect vital organs on the chest and back. The side sections, shoulders, neck, and groin are protected by soft ballistic inserts of Class 1 or Class 2, as installing heavy Class 6 plates around the entire perimeter would make the suit impossibly heavy.
