SAM Junctional Tourniquet (SJT)

SAM Junctional Tourniquet (SJT) is a specialized medical device designed for the temporary control of massive hemorrhage in the inguinal and axillary regions, where conventional tourniquets cannot be effectively applied. Thanks to its advanced design, the device provides rapid localized compression of major blood vessels and can be used in emergency situations.

The tourniquet is equipped with two Target Compression Device (TCD) pads that allow precise compression of the required area. Its universal design enables application in both the inguinal and axillary regions, while the dual compression pads can also be used simultaneously for bilateral hemorrhage control.

The patented SAM® AUTOSTOP buckle automatically provides the optimal strap tension before inflating the compression pads. Once the required compression force is achieved, the mechanism produces a distinct click, confirming correct application. The compression pads are quickly inflated using the included hand pump or a syringe with a Luer-Lock connection.

The tourniquet is manufactured from radiolucent materials, allowing X-ray and CT imaging without removing the device (except for two stainless steel buckle components). In addition to hemorrhage control, it can also be used for pelvic stabilization in the event of pelvic injuries.
