Our closed-type pouches provide complete UV protection, which is critically important as sunlight gradually destroys the structure of the plastic windlass and weakens the strap. If you use an open-type pouch, keep in mind that it provides maximum speed of access but leaves part of the tourniquet exposed to external influences.
